Keeping warm in Winter.....
My latest Blog............
This is the summary of my 2011 season, it includes 5 mid 30's, Mirrors of 39lb and 40lb, and a PB Common 44.02lb............ it also includes footage of the last ever capture of the Fat Lady!
Over the last few weeks I have had a few very successfull sessions on a 20 acre lake that is situated on the banks of the River Nene in Northamptonshire. The lake contains about 80-100 carp, which are mainly commons, but it does contain some cracking mirrors too. The banks can get busy at times, but that's to be expected in this day and age! I have fished the lake and the lake next door occasionally throughtout the summer and tried to keep a regular supply of "The Edge" going in. But it was a session in the last week in August that the fish really got on The Edge and I started to catch big hauls of fish......

On the next session down I couldn't get back in the productive swim from the previous week and fish my pre baited spots, so I set up in a swim that was new to me a few swims away. I again hook 6 carp, but unfortunately lost 2 of them. The Edge was now starting to dominate the water as the fish's first choice food source, because very little was getting caught on other baits!

It was one of those sessions where the hard work of finding spots and pre-bait both them and the lake in general paid off. I had a 5 fish haul and lost a Carp. If you want to read more about the session in detail, then please take a look at my diary piece in Big Carp Magazine.
